Fruits and vegetables are so good for your body. Most people believe they don’t like many fruits or vegetables without ever trying them. Or, perhaps they tried them prepared a certain way and didn’t like them.
The great aspect of these types of foods are they can be prepared many different ways. They can be steamed, baked, fried or even microwaved for those who are looking for an easy time in the kitchen. I prefer fried. I know that this is not the most healthy of choices, but I know what I like, I know how to make it the way that I like it, and at least I’m eating my fruits and vegetables.
Honestly, take zucchini for example. Many people think that it is disgusting but I simply love it. The way that I prepare it for frying is simple and straightforward. First I peel the entire zucchini. Next I cut it into about 2 inch pieces, width wise. Next, I lightly beat an egg in a bowl and on a separate plate put some flour and add salt and pepper to your liking. If you prefer a little spicy add some red pepper as well. Now take your zucchini and dip it in the egg so that it is completely covered. Then with a fork pick up the egg and cover it completely with the flour mixture. Keep doing this process until you have used up the entire zucchini.
About half way through the process set your stove on medium heat and add about ½ inch of oil. When your oil is hot add your zucchini. Cooking time should take between 6 – 8 minutes. The flour should turn a golden brown. Test your zucchini by poking a fork through it. If the fork goes through easily you are done .
If you don’t prefer fried foods try steaming for a healthier alternative. Mainly, don’t give up on fruits and vegetables without trying them a bunch of different ways. Sometimes that can make all the difference.
